The Southern California Tribal CFO Roundtable Series is an exclusive forum that offers tribal CFOs the opportunity to interact with peers and discuss topics of interest.

Hosted with Sheppard Mullin, the December roundtable will feature guest speakers from the IRS’s Office of Indian Tribal Governments: Christie Jacobs, director, and Telly Meier, field operations manager. Together, they’ll discuss key developments relevant to tribes, including:

  • Tribal Treasury Advisory Committee updates
  • The leadership transition within the Indian Tribal Government Division of the IRS
  • IRS consultation on taxation of tribally chartered entities

Christie Jacobs, Director, Internal Revenue Service's Office of Tribal Governments

Christie has worked closely with tribal governments and has extensive experience with a wide variety of existing and emerging tribal and gaming issues. She has developed a close and positive relationship with tribal governments, regulators, tax professionals and other stakeholders.

Telly Meier, Field Operations Manager, Internal Revenue Service's Office of Tribal Governments

Telly has been an IRS Indian Tribal Governments Tax Law Specialist since September 2011. He provides counsel and advice regarding ITG issues to both IRS management and ITG field specialists and managers. He also provides direct assistance and support to taxpayers with ITG questions. Prior to joining the IRS, Telly represented Indian tribal governments and nonprofit organizations in private practice.
